Role: UX + UI Design
Produced at: Banfield Agency
The client approached the agency with an outdated website that hadn't been designed or optimized for mobile, and wasn't functioning properly. The Voluntary Principles on Security and Human Rights doesn't offer a standard product or service, isn't a traditional NGO or charity, and their somewhat esoteric and complex organizational goals weren't easy to grasp from the website. The copy on the site read like a technical manual, was overly long for web content and required a substantial overhaul, rethink and optimization.
A modernization of the look and feel, including making the website fully responsive, applying a new typeface family—as well as a strict approach to content, resulting in a much lighter experience and disciplined, clearer messaging. We put in place a system for content that provided guidance on word count, on a section-by-section basis. This approach allowed the client to distill the website copy down to much smaller, digestable chunks, without sacrificing content quality or messaging.
